Kathy Campbell
Office Manager

Kathy Campbell

Kathy is the office manager at Lafayette Animal Hospital, and has been since the practice opened its doors in 1994. With over 25 years of veterinary assistance experience, she uses her education certification to lead a caring, cheerful, and well-educated staff. Though her title is the office manager, she wears many hats here at the clinic. You will see her at the reception area, even in an exam room or the surgical suite, more than you will see her behind her own desk. She truly enjoys being involved in all aspects of our hospital.

Kathy lives in Exeter, NH, and has a husband and two daughters. She has a Boston Terrier named Maisie, who you will usually see greeting you at the front desk. She also owns three Morgan horses, one of which she won a world championship with at the Morgan Grand National Horse Show in Oklahoma City in 2014. She enjoys being outdoors at her and her husband’s camp, at the horse shows, or just taking the dogs for a walk on the beach. You may also see her with her sisters at the local art and craft venues, promoting her primitive painting collection. She looks forward to seeing you and meeting your pet at Lafayette Animal Hospital.

Samantha B, C.V.T.
Veterinary Technician

Samantha B

Sam graduated from Great Bay Community College in 2014, where she received her associate degree in Applied Science. Shortly thereafter, she passed the challenging Veterinary Technician Exam to become a Certified Veterinary Technician. Sam originally came to us as an intern during her schooling, and then was invited to join our full time staff in May of 2014. Sam has a well-rounded approach to her veterinary technician work because of her kind, and hard-working personality. She is always willing to learn or try something new. Since she has started, she has developed into a skilled veterinary technician, who excels not only in the surgical suite, but also in the exam room.

Sam lives on the seacoast with her two cats, Zayla and Bailey. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, and doing outdoor activities such as hiking or kayaking, and running. In November of 2015, Sam completed her first half marathon! Make sure to check back in on her when you visit our clinic to see what she will accomplish next.

Dylan S
Veterinary Assistant

Dylan S

Dylan has been working here with us since the summer of 2012. At that time, he was still in high school, and was a very active and successful, member of the FFA, through an Animal and Plant Science Course that he took during his junior and senior years of high school. He started off with us as a kennel attendant, and right away we noticed not only his strong passion for animals, but he did extremely well with all of our nervous and/or aggressive patients. Dylan worked his way up the ladder here, and now is one of our knowledgeable veterinary assistants.

Dylan lives in Stratham, NH with his three dogs, Meatloaf, Nog, and Paul. In his free time, you’ll find him training his dogs, as well as working as an apprentice under a canine behaviorist, who specializes in the rehabilitation of aggressive and problematic dogs.

Megan F
Veterinary Assistant

Megan has been an employee of Lafayette Animal Hospital on and off since her high school career. In 2011, she graduated from Colby-Sawyer College with a Bachelor’s Degree in History and Education. Upon graduating college, she started working full time at another area animal hospital as a receptionist. In 2015, she joined our team again in a relief capacity, and in 2016, she joined us as a full time employee. You will see her at the front desk, in an exam room holding animals for procedures, or she may ask if your pet can pose for a photo to be posted on our Facebook page. Her expansive knowledge in the veterinary field makes her a wonderful addition to our team.

She has recently taken on specializing in our Laser Therapy, and enjoys educating our clients about how Laser Therapy can benefit their pet(s). In her spare time, Megan enjoys sewing, and spending time riding horses at a local barn.

Krista R
Veterinary Assistant

Krista R

Krista started with us in 2012, during which, she was studying Animal Science at the University of New Hampshire. In 2014, she left our clinic to attend a pet grooming school as well as to apprentice with a canine behaviorist and trainer. After a year full of gaining priceless canine related knowledge, she returned to us in early 2015. At the clinic, she enjoys working on projects for our online pet portal, ePet Health, helping out at the front desk, assisting our doctors and technicians, and most of all spending time caring for and getting to know our patients and their owners .

Krista lives locally here in Portsmouth with her boyfriend, and their dog Remmy. When she isn’t here working, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, and taking Remmy on new outdoor adventures.

Lisa F
Receptionist

Lisa F

Lisa is our receptionist and has been with us since 2011. Her friendly, compassionate, and outgoing personality, combined with her love of animals, makes her the ideal person to greet and help our clients with their pets. Lisa is very down to earth, and is always reassuring clients when trying to make decisions as easy as what type of flea and tick preventive they should purchase, to decisions as difficult as knowing when it’s time to say goodbye to their beloved family member. She gets to know our clients on a first name basis, and is always making any time spent in the waiting area enjoyable.

Lisa lives in Seabrook, NH, and though she doesn’t have any pets of her own, she enjoys spending time with her grand-pup! When Lisa is not at here at LAH, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. You can find her spending time with her daughter, sister, and mother, usually going to craft fairs or some other unique event, or even cheering on her niece and nephew at their sporting events.

Brenda Schmidt
Human Resource Manager

Brenda Schmidt

Brenda grew up on the New Hampshire Seacoast. In 1972 she graduated, cum laude, from the University of New Hampshire, with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. From there, she went on to marry her high school sweetheart, who just so happens to be our very own Dr. Schmidt. She joined our staff in 2011, after retiring from 16 years of working for an area cardiology practice. Brenda has even taught elementary school, as well as quilt making in her home studio in the past.

Brenda’s most prized hobbies are baking and sewing. She enjoys supplying our staff with special homemade desserts on their birthdays, and even gives everyone a goodie bag filled with all of the staff’s favorite baked goods around the holidays. Brenda also enjoys sewing everything from doll clothes and baby quilts for her 2 granddaughters, to window treatments and upholstery projects.

Joe C.A.T.
Hospital Cat

Joe C.A.T.

Joe is our resident animal hospital cat. He has been with us since March of 2015. He was an “owner surrender”, who made himself right at home here. Our staff instantly fell in love with him, and quickly asked Dr. Schmidt if we could keep him… who could say no to that face?

Joe spends his days playing with all of Kathy and Dr. Schmidt’s Boston Terriers, overseeing medical procedures from a safe distance, walking across keyboards as our staff tries to get some work done, and above all else, lounging in his favorite, quirky spots. Our staff truly spoils him with love, and attention, and in return he makes us all laugh, especially on days that we need an emotional pick me up.
