Young pets are adorable, and are so much fun. But, they require special care to maintain proper health to support their proper growth. At the first puppy visit, we will discuss many important decisions to be made about your pet, including; nutrition, socialization, parasite prevention, upcoming vaccination schedule, and even talk with you about when you should consider spaying or neutering your pet.

Our recommended vaccination and health routines for puppies and kittens are outlined below. Puppy Vaccination & Health Routine

  • Physical examination
  • Distemper-Parvo Combination Vaccine – 1st booster in 3 booster series.
  • Dewormer
12 Weeks
  • Physical examination
  • Distemper-Parvo Combination Vaccine – 2nd booster in 3 booster series.
  • Dewormer
  • Bordetella (Kennel Cough) Vaccine
  • Lyme Vaccine – 1st booster in 2 booster series.
16 Weeks
  • Physical examination
  • Distemper-Parvo Combination Vaccine – 3rd and final booster in 3 booster series.
  • Dewormer
  • Lyme Vaccine – 2nd and final booster in 2 booster series.
  • Rabies Vaccine
6-8 Months
  • Spay/Neuter Recommended
  • Microchipping recommended at the time of spay/neuter surgery
1 Year
  • Annual Physical Examination
  • Rabies Vaccine – Annual booster *will be eligible for 3 year booster if updated within the month of the due date.*
  • Distemper-Parvo Combination Vaccine – Annual booster.
  • Lyme Vaccine – Annual booster.
  • Kennel Cough Vaccine – Annual booster.
  • 4DX Test – Annual blood test that tests for heartworm, lyme, erlichiosis, and anaplasmosis.

*Treatments for flea, tick, and heartworm prevention are critical when taking steps to keep your pet as healthy as possible. Just ask our staff about the many options we provide for the prevention of many different parasite infestations that can affect your dog. Our staff will be able to help you decide which preventative works best for you and your pet!*

Kitten Vaccinations and Health Routine

Age Treatment
8 Weeks
  • Physical Examination
  • Feline Distemper Vaccine – 1st booster in 2 booster series.
  • Feline Leukemia Vaccine – 1st booster in 2 booster series.
  • Dewormer
12 Weeks
  • Physical Examination
  • Feline Distemper Vaccine – 2nd and final booster in 2 booster series.
  • Feline Leukemia Vaccine – 2nd and final booster in 2 booster series.
  • Dewormer
16 Weeks
  • Physical Examination
  • Rabies Vaccine
  • Dewormer
6-8 Months
  • Spay/Neuter Recommended
  • Microchipping recommended at time of spay/neuter surgery.
  • Declawing – Laser procedure available for indoor cats.
1 Year
  • Annual Physical Examination
  • Rabies Vaccine – Annual booster *will be eligible for 3 year booster if updated within the month of the due date*
  • Feline Distemper Vaccine – Annual booster.
  • Feline Leukemia Vaccine – Annual booster.
  • Possible dewormer (depending on your pet)
